EOG Testing Begins!

It's that time again! All third, fourth, and fifth graders will take the NC End-of-Grade test beginning next week. It is so very important that ALL students are here on those days to minimize our need for make-up tests. Testing Dates:
- Wednesday, 5/16 - 5th grade SCIENCE
- Friday, 5/18 - 3rd, 4th, 5th grade READING
- Monday, 5/21 - 3rd, 4th, 5th grade MATH
- Tuesday, 5/22 - 3rd,4th, 5th grade MATH

The Collegiate Achievement Mentoring Program, a.k.a. C.A.M.P. Pack, is a leadership mentoring program. Each week, student athletes from NC State University serve as mentors to students at A.B. Combs Leadership Magnet Elementary School. This program is based on the successful model developed at the University of Florida. C.A.M.P. Pack seeks to replicate the success of previous C.A.M.P. programs with increases in student achievement, leadership, and college awareness. C.A.M.P. Pack components such as a leadership curriculum based on Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and collegiate campus visits instill in students a sense of confidence and a belief that with hard work, one can succeed now and in the future. During the 2011-2012 school year, 29 collegiate mentors and 63 A.B. Combs Leadership Magnet Elementary students participated in the eight-week C.A.M.P. Pack program.
