Spotlight on Students
Spotlight on Students is a program sponsored by Wake County Public Schools to recognize students for outstanding personal achievement. Schools have the opportunity to “spotlight” one of their students during a presentation to the board of education during one of their regular meetings.
Since 1982, the WCPSS Board of Education has opened its regular monthly meeting with a special ceremony honoring selected students for outstanding achievements and accomplishments. By the end of the school year, one student from each participating school will earn the accolade of Spotlight on Students. Each student is recognized and awarded a plaque and letter from the superintendent.
Congratulations Jordan !
Jordan demonstrates leadership every day at A.B. Combs Leadership Magnet Elementary School. Jordan has a lot of self-discipline and is self-motivated to do well in class. She cares about her achievements and goes above and beyond what is expected. Jordan already knows that she wants to be a special education teacher so she can help others when she grows up. She already has that caring, patient disposition that it takes to help others and her peers respect her for that.
In addition to being a leader in her classroom, Jordan has shown leadership on a school-wide level as well. She has been a member of our Student Council, Safety Patrol, and has even helped organize some of our school’s fundraisers.
Her enthusiastic approach to life is contagious to all around her. We cannot wait for the day that Jordan is a teacher for WCPSS!!!
