AB Combs Volunteers

Volunteers are an important part of the A. B. Combs community. We currently have 418 volunteers who have registered to volunteer at our school.  WCPSS has online electronic registration for volunteers. All volunteers, tutors, and field trip chaperones must complete the online application for security clearance.   The application may be completed at any Wake County school through the WCPSS intranet.  At A. B. Combs, this may be done any time during school hours in the Media Center.  There is a computer just beyond the circulation desk with a VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION sign.  It only takes 5-10 minutes and is designed to protect your secure information. You will need your social security number and driver’s license number.
 
A security clearance is good for 2 years.  If you completed the application last year, you are now in the INACTIVE file.  You will need to log on and your information from last year will appear.  Make any changes or additions as necessary, such as child’s teacher, children’s names, schools where you wish to volunteer, etc.  If you originally applied 2 years ago, you will need to resubmit your security clearance information and it will take a few weeks for you to be cleared.

Be sure to check “day field trip chaperone – unsupervised” if you think you may want to attend one of your child’s class field trips any time this year.  All field trip chaperones MUST have a security clearance.
