Dear Fourth and Fifth Grade Students and Parents,

The Fifth Annual Spelling Bee is buzzing around the corner at A.B. Combs Elementary!  This is a great opportunity for fourth and fifth grade students to show off their spelling skills. Although only one person will walk away with the first place trophy, all students will benefit by becoming better spellers.

Students interested in the bee can attend an information meeting at 2:15 pm on April 15th in the Media Center. Parents are also welcome to attend.  At this meeting, the rules of the bee will be reviewed and procedures discussed.

The spelling bee will be held at 9:15 am Thursday, June 5, 2008 in the Multi-Purpose room. All participants will be awarded spelling bee certificates. Trophies and prizes will be given to the top five finalists.

If you are interested in participating in the spelling bee, complete the form below and return it to your classroom teacher by April 17th.  The official rules will be given to those who choose to participate in the spelling bee.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the A.B. Combs Spelling Bee, please contact Rene’ Herrick, 4th Grade Teacher, at 233-4300 or via email at rherrick@wcpss.net.
