Outstanding fourth-grade teacher Hal Schwartz is now a finalist for the Wake County Public School System Diane Kent-Parker First-Year Teacher Award.  This prestigious honor is awarded each year to teachers nominated by their principal and school and have shown significant professional success during their first year of teaching.  This award so accurately reflects the teaching and learning that is happening every day in Mr. Schwartz’s classroom.  Mr. Schwartz joins the A.B. Combs community after traveling extensively throughout Africa and Europe and teaching on a reservation in South Dakota. He is a graduate of Penn State University with a BA in Childhood Education and a concentration in Art
