Bus Information

school busDear Parents:
You will soon receive bus route descriptions for our school. Please look over the routes and find the stop nearest your house and go to that stop when school begins. The buses serving A. B. Combs will be color coded and labeled again this year. You will need to give the drivers at least a ten minute leeway on the scheduled arrival times. For example, if your child is scheduled to be picked up at 7:40 am, the bus may be as early as 7:30 am or as late as 7:50 am. This is due to the uncertainty of traffic. Hopefully, after the drivers do the routes a few times, they will be able to give you a more exact pick-up time.

If you have questions or concerns about your child's stop, you may contact Denise Jobe, Transportation Supervisor, located at Broughton High School at 856-7821. Your child's safety is a top priority for us. We ask you to join us in our efforts to ensure a safe and pleasant ride on our school buses by reviewing the following rules with your child.
Students should:

1. Be on time. The bus cannot wait for you.
2. Wait at the bus stop without running around or playing.
3. Enter and exit the bus without pushing or crowding.
4. Show respect for the driver at all times and accept his/her authority.
5. Talk in a reasonable tone of voice to the people near you.
6. Find a seat and stay in it - keep all body parts inside the bus.
7. Refrain from eating or drinking on the bus.
8. Avoid littering the bus. Never throw anything on the bus.
9. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.

Bus drivers have a tremendous responsibility for operating the bus and maintaining good behavior of the students in their care. Since students' inappropriate behavior can distract the driver, we are asking that drivers let Mrs. Summers or me know immediately if there is a problem. Continued or serious misconduct may lead to the following:

First offense - Warning letter to parent
Second offense - Suspension from the bus for one to five days.
Third offense - Suspension from the bus for ten days.

Thank you for helping us get off to a great start with school bus safety. Please feel free to call Denise Jobe at 856-7821 or me at 233-4300, if you have questions about transportation. See you soon.
